Smile Cool idea!!!

I just finished planting lettuce seeds and it was so difficult not to have them bunched together.
I decided to watch a video on youtube (after the fact) and learned that using a salt shaker will help with this problem! It is a good idea for most little seeds.
What a great idea! I plan to try it myself!

Thanks for sharing that idea!

I have seen mention of using a squeeze bottle like mustard or shampoo (cleaned out well, of course) and making a cornstarch and water slurry to mix your seed in to help sow them. A quick search found this article...

If the holes are really big you can mix in a little sand to help distribute the seeds.

I bet a 35mm film canister with a hole drilled in the lid would work. We just picked up another sack full at Sams Club for the asking. They are so useful and less and less film is being used, so we stock up while we can.

What about using toilet paper? Some one told me about it. Sounds great. Just like making your own seed tape.
