pvc greenhouse?

For those who built their own greenhouse from pvc pipe, what dimension pvc did you use? Did you use schedule40 or schedule80 thickness? How durable did your greenhouse turn out? This will be my first greenhouse and I don't need an industrial model, but I would like to extend my growing season as cheaply..umm, I mean frugally as possible. Thanks for input, Pamela

Have you considered using a high tunnel or low tunnel rather than a greenhouse?

That's a good descriptive site, thanks! Hubby is a whiz with building, but he's behind on the farm and overwhelmed already. This will be a building job for me and the teenagers.

We used 1" pipe, the least expensive I could find. It's been up since last April & doing well. I'm hoping to be able to cover it in UV Grrenhouse film this spring.

Cheryl in SD, could you show us what your greenhouse looks like? Did it take long to build? I too am looking to put up a easy, affordable greenhouse that is sturdy as well. Thanks!
