Green Bean question
My pole beans are just now starting to make some beans, they've been so slow this summer because it's been cool. THe weather is forecasted to be wet and cool for the next few weeks(and our winter is supposed to be colder too). It get's to abotu 60' during the day, and no sun. Should I just give up on them producing anything because of the cold weather? I 've got lot of nice tall leafy vines, but the beans are SO SLOW in coming on--normally they would have been producing for month already.
I gave up on the tomatoes and picked them all green to ripen up on the window sill so they don't split. My lettuce/beets/spinach I started fo rthe fall are all doing great.
I'm just curious abotu the beans planning canning wise re alloting jars--I like to make dilly beans and if I'm not going get good beans I'll just let it go(and eat up baby green beans)
Boy, talk about can up everything in sight in good years, because the next might be bad.
I'm also sad, I have tons of green grapes and wanted to make raisins this year, but not hot weather--I'll freeze them and dry them later over the woodstove when we light it up in Nov.
