Will corn recover?

My goofy goats made it into the corn patch and ate the tops off of all the young corn plants. Will they recover from that, or should I just start over?

Thanks!

I THINK, but am not at all sure, that since corn grows from the bottom up (and not from the tips of the plants like beans) that it should recover. But I am NOT at all sure..hopefully someone else will chime in.

Depends on how bad they have eaten it back, some corn will come back some won`t. it should just take a few days to see if they start growing , so just watch and see what happens, >Thanks Marc

I think it will depend on whether or not they just ate the leaves or if they got down to the stalk where the tassel forms. If the tassels are all gone you would need to bring in tassels to pollinate your ears (ok, the corn ears!).

Corn tassel earrings might be cute!

I'll have to look more closely and see how bad the damage is. I may just plant something else there.

Thanks everyone!
