What to do with old peas?

I've got some snap peas still on the vine which are past their prime, looking a little tough and gnarly. Should I dry them to use as a dry pea? Do I leave them to dry on the vine, or pick them and shell them first?

Mind you, I don't even like split pea soup...

If you liked the peas, save them as seed and replant in a few weeks.
