Broccoli question

How do I keep cutting my broccoli? I cut the main stalk when it had a good head on it. Now I keep trimming smaller heads off with longer stems. Is there a better way to do this for larger secondary heads?

Not that I know of. I've grown broccoli about three or four years now and the central head is large (not as large as from the store, usually) and then after you harvest that you get more like florets.

I have harvested more broccoli as side shoots this year than as heads. There is only one large head from a broccoli plant each planting.

We've gotten more (per plant) side shoots than heads this year too.

Remember the side shoots groe between the stalk and leaves. be aware of this when cutting and you will get more side shoots.
