Planting near a dog run
We have a run for our dogs. It currently is shaded by a jujube tree but I'd like to add another tree, perhaps a citrus, that will provide more dense shade.
Would there be a problem planting a tree with edible fruit (jujubes are edible but I don't eat them) in this situation? I've heard one shouldn't compost dog manure and although we clean up the mess there is an amount that would get washed down to the tree (not to mention the urine).
