Roots have been in fridge for a long time - will they grow???
I have some comfrey roots that I received in June of last year. Never got around to planting them - truthfully, I put them in the fridge and they got hidden in the back and I forgot about them. They were packed in a saw dust material and the instructions said to put them in the fridge if they weren't going to be planted right away and they would keep. Well, I don't think they meant for them to be in there this long.
I really want to plant them out, but what do you suggest I try before I do? I obviously can't do it here yet - its not warm enough. Do you think I should try to bring them back to life before they go outside? I was thinking of soaking them - but for how long? If they show signs of life should I plant them in containers until I can put them in the ground? That would be about 5 weeks from now.
What are your thoughts??? Thank you!!!
