Thats not surprising considering the unusually warm weather we've experienced recently. I have a couple of perennials that have peaked their heads up also.

Not here

Not here for awhile will they be poking out. It is currently 24º at 3:30 p.m. after an overnight temp of 3º. And to think that I roto-tilled ⅓ acre on Monday gearing up for spring planting.

This winter has been quite odd here also. Overnight lows in the single digits.
But the horses seem to know something that I don't. They are starting to shed out. Maybe an eraly spring in the Mt. West.

Oh, I forgot-- been seeing a LOT of Canada geese flying overhead-- and I see the Pa Dept of Whatever has started their Snow Goose watch-- Lot more birds out here now-- the owls are quite vocal about their "intentions" as of late... So far, Barred, Great Horned, and a couple Screech Owls are being heard on a regular basis. The Pileated Woodpecker never left for the winter- and he is going to town on the dead trees.... Red tailed hawks are cleaning up a lot of roadkill, as of late. Seems at this point, we have more hawks than crows! And the deer have broken apart their winter herds-- lots of fat, sassy does crossing the roads- expect to see fawns pretty soon. The Kestral that lives up the road has already returned . Nice to see him back.
