Powdery stuff in Pre-Compost

I make my compost in a tumbler. No problem there

While one batch of compost is cooking though, I pile up my grass clippings, etc, until it's their turn. Scooping grass out of this pile though, under the surface I've noticed a lot of white powdery 'something' all through the pile.

What is this stuff and should I be worried about it?

Yeast or mold, a harmless fungus regardless, and feeding alongside whatever bacteria is present. Just one more method used by Nature in recycling dead and dying matter.
