Rain, Rain and more RAIN!

Now okay, I realize that a. - some of you out there could really use some rain right now and b. - I'll probably be wishing for some rain in the hot days of July and August when everything is dry as dust......but geesh !!! can we just get a break here please?? By the looks of things its going to be June before the ground is dry enough to plant anything.
Anyone else floating??

It rains ALOT where I live - from fall through spring. But that is the normal pattern here. I work around it by having raised beds and keep them covered with grow tunnels - fall through spring - so that the soil and harvest can be worked just about anytime - despite the falling weather.

Please send some over my way! We are experiencing the worst drought in our recorded history, are about to go onto Level 5 water restrictions (not even buckets allowed for watering gardens, no car/house washing, etc). Our govt is about to start recycling our sewerage for us to drink. Level 6 restrictions (probably water rationing) due in July unless rain happens - and we are entering our 'dry' season!!

Please send it to northwest Alabama. My hometown is under a burn ban due to the severe lack of rain. They're fighting multiple fires daily.

I've got water standing in my yard from all the recent rain. We never even dried out last summer. I watered the potted plants just a couple times. I really don't see how the farmers can till their land as wet as Ohio and Indiana have been the past 2 years. Supposed to rain again in a couple days, just as the soil was getting almost dry enough to work. Bummer. I wish we could send it to areas where it is needed.

I could use some too, please. Fires burned 250 acres of mountainside the other day and my ground is cracked and hard and dusty. If I send you one end of a hose, do you think I could syphon from your yard? When we get into a permanent place, I am doing rainwater collection and grey water, you betcha.

Nice thing about having raised beds, got about 4-5" of rain in the past 2 days, and the garden is nice and workable. Also, for the summer, I use a soaker hose and a good hour long soak a week and the garden does great.
