Looking for info on wild blueberries

I have been wanting to get blueberry bushes for quite some time, but want to be sure I have an appropriate place and have the soil all prepared and at the proper pH for them before I buy. I haven't been able to do this as of yet so obviously have purchased any. Well, my kids were out in an area of the field the other day where I put my potato plants and they found wild blueberries (low bush type) growing over there. I am trying to find info and how to care for them so that they may spread and grow more. I have found some info on them as far as weeds will keep them from growing and that they produce every other year. But, that's about all the info I have found. Does anyone else know of any books or sites that my help me?

Thanks,
Tracy

I live in Washington county, Maine. This county supplies 95% of the world's wild blueberries. Blueberry growers here either burn or mow their plants every other year. I have wild blueberries that I don't do anything to. They produce very well as long as we get enough snow to insulate them in the winter.

You should be able to find everything you need here: http://wildblueberries.maine.edu/TableofContents.htm
