Weather woes

Anybody else in the upper midwest feeling sick about this weather?

Quote:
Tonight
Windy. Rain...mixed at times with light snow or sleet. No snow accumulation. Lows in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph. Gusts to 40 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation 100 percent."
I'm in zone 5, and after CAREFULLY checking the forecast planted some of my tomatoes etc. on monday. The forecast that afternoon called for rain, but at least 50s and 60s for the next five days...and then they changed their minds!!

Oh well, that's why I have spares....inside! I covered things up and will hope for the best---but what do gardeners do in the middle of may cooped up inside???

I like it myself. Got down to 55 here on the Gulf Coast. I can't ever remember that happening in the middle of May.

Morning ot the 11th it was 31 at my house. I had carried all the tomatoes and pepper plants back in. Zone 5. We should now be passed last frost. This outting them out and in is a job in its self. 50 pans/trays.

You spend time figuring if enough rows for the plants and what to plan in the left part of garden. Ground is HOT during the day. I have been making irrigation ditches and soaking the ditches so when plant it will not not dry dust. Really dry. One row of taters need hilling. Rest not up and only one row of that kind. I do not lack for things to do.

Real nice in April and the apricot tree loaded with little ones. They froze. Weather! We can srill get frost yet but should be done they say, Use to say 15th now the 10th. Lot of plants really to go out in garden.
