Talking Garden Claw update

I don't know if anyone remembers my post about buying the "Garden Claw" for my Grandma. (The post was lost last week.) Well I bought her one and then I borrowed it (Ha Ha!) I tried it out and was very surprised at how good it works! I worked for about a half hour last night and got a spot about 4X6 done! (I know a tiller would be a lot faster but I like to do things by hand.) I was very surprised at the quality of my dirt (this will be my first garden here.) I dug up at least 10 worms!!! At my old house we had a postage stamp yard and a tiny tiny garden with clay soil but our soil here is black!! Anyways I plan on "tilling" up the dirt and then putting a layer of rabbit berries and then starting my "lasagna" garden. (I know you don't have to till up the ground of a lasagna garden but I had to try out the garden claw.) I think I'm going to see if the lasagna garden spot that is tilled works better than the lasagna garden spot that is not tilled. I was afraid my back would hurt today but so far it doesn't. Now I have to return it to my Grandma (she is going to use it for inbetween rows in a tilled garden.) Thanks for listening!

Hmm, now I wanna go and buy one. See what you've done? I wish I could try your grandma's out first to make sure I like it though.

I like to dig up weeds in my garden and replace with veggie seedlings. I'll bet that claw would do a good deed pulling up dandelions and plaintain in the garden--those are the two I really worry about. Everything else is easily pulled and I let things go until I need it.

I have one and it does a decent job in the clay and a good job in nice garden soil. My only complant is the handle even at its longest setting is too short to be comfortable for me.

It works great in the garden and i've used it when digging post holes, there I use it to loosen the soil around rocks so i can pull them out and keep digging.

Before you lay out a bunch of cash at Wally world, check the local thrift stores and yard sales. Sometimes you can pick one up for a song.

I have two (one for me and one for my 5 year old), and I really like mine.

I've used my garden claw for about 5 years now and love it.

I got mine at Odd Lots, or Big Lots. $9.99 best tool I ever bought.

Mine is solid steel , not height adjustable like the ones you see on TV.

But just perfect for short little me. I use it everywhere.
