Solution for a sty?

My 4 year old son has alot of trouble with his eyelids. Currently he has a sty on his lower lid and a lump in his upper lid. He used to have a lump in his lower lid, but it finally went away. Any ideas that may help. The doctor told me to put warm compresses on the eye - didn't work.

My family has used raspberry leaf tea ,we soak a clean cloth in the tea that is warm not hot and apply the cloth to the eyes for about ten minutes 3-4 times a day and keep the face clean. A sty is a bacterial infection of the oil gland on the eyelid and can be spread if rubbed or popped by rubbing so make sure the face around the eyes are kept clean It may be a little challenge with a 4 year old to keep him still for 10 minutes at a time so try to do it at nap time or bed time . I hope this works for juniors sack.

Try the gold ring trick, that works for a lot of people and people have used gold for hundreds of years on styes. Sterilize a gold ring in boiling water, let it cool to just warm and gently rub it over the styes - do that 3 or 4 times a day. You should notice a big difference within 24 hours.

I picked up eyelid wash the other day. So far, no improvement. I do have tea bags, but no gold ring. I'll try the tea bag today. Thanks for the responses.

I got slightly different advice from my doctor because I am an adult and can (hopefully) know when something is too hot. His advice has always worked for me, but this advice may be too dangerous for 4 year old!

My doctor told me to use a very HOT (as hot as you can stand) compress over the sty area several times a day. Most sty's start out as a skin pore blocked by oil that slowly builds into an infection. The very hot compress melts the oil and clears up the blockage.

The Mayo Clinic website has info on sty.

Hope this help
