Spring powerd

Howdy all
I drive by a pond all the time that has 3 springs feeding it. You can see on the water surface the swirling from the springs.
I was wondering could they be used some way to make power ?
They seem to have a good flow year round one of them really good flow.
By the way I live not far at all from Silver springs fl. That has the largest volume flow spring in the world.

I don't think they have enough energy to spin a turbine even though they've got plenty of volume. They could be tapped to make a cheap air conditioner.

Hi,
I think its unlikely that there is enough moving water energy to get useful generation of of the swirling water.

You can look over this page on flow or river hydro and see how much power you can get for various flow velocities -- then compare that to what the pond offers.
Flow of River Hydro- -- Using Only Stream Velocity to Drive a Turbine

Bottom line is the most hydro operates on the water going through an elevation drop, and to make use of just the water flow velocity in a river or the like takes pretty good velocity and a fair bit of stream area.

With three springs feeding the pond, where is the outflow? That might be a better choice for making power.

I snorkeled in the stream that comes out of that huge spring and a little bit in the river it runs into.

If its in florida forget it. I think it would have to be at the top of magic mtn to have enough elevation drop
