Voltage regulation
Let's start with a little background. Two days ago during an extended power interuption I started my 3 cyl. hatz deisel, 16,000 watt 64 amp generator to power up my water pump and water circulators on the farm. All seemed fine at first, a little bit of pulse to the light bulb but nothing unusual. Then I smelled smoke, assuming it was from the generator, thought nothing of it. Until I realized it was not the smell of deisel fumes but something much worse, burning electrical wires. When I got to the water room the 100w light bulb looked like it was a 300w bulb and smoke was curling out of the 220v water circulator. I got one circulator shut down but by the time I reached the second water room the second was toast. End result, two burnt out water circulators totaling $3000.00 I am assuming it is a problem with the voltage regulator but in fact I have no idea. I would love to hear any suggestions all of you might have. Thanks
