Question about quilt pricing

I do long arm quilting and on my next customer quilt I'm going to start picking up/delivering instead of having them drop it off. This may sound dumb, but should I include that in the cost?

Yes -- at least a small amount for the gas you will use. Don't know how you bill your time, but when I used to deliver products to customers, I added in half the cost of my time, unless I was out running other errands in the area.

Just curious what you charge for a twin sized quilt? There is only one quilt shop in a 150 mile radius, so I don't know if their charges are reasonable or not.

I charge between 1.5 and 2 cents a square inch. Then add a couple of dollars for thread.

stirfamily,
Does the per square inch charge include the cost of the material or do you add that in as well along with the cost of the thread.?

Thank you for sharing your price. The quilt shop here charges $65.00 for a twin sized (up to 65"x85") which includes batting, so that ends up less that you (but doesn't include delivery). Since they are the only game for 100+ mile radius, I wasn't sure if their prices were reasonable or not. Glad to know they are.

I just paid $35 for quilting on a 40x49 throw - supplied own batting.
