I scored today at Goodwill

I had to go to Tyler today to get glasses so while waiting for them to get done I went to the Goodwill. I found 3 bundles of fabric for 2.99 each. I wound up with one piece about 6 yards, one 5 yrds one 3 yrds. The 6 yrds one and the 3 yrds one match so I can make a matching outfit. I got several 2 yrd. pieces I can make blouses from. On of those "cheater" quilt top pieces large enough for a full size quilt. It's the wedding ring print.

They also had quit a few less than a yrd pieces and some of those printed pannels that you cut the pieces out to make stuffed things. A couple christmas prints, and three pieces of real leather. The really soft kind. My husband wants me to make him a tote out of one of the leather pieces to use when he goes to gun shows.

Wow you scored. The leather alone is expensive. It probably is suede. That stuff on The Tandy leather site can only be ordered in bulk at something like $36 and I had a neighbor tell me that another shop that sells it which is an hour away from me, sells it at $1 per foot the last time she bought any. I think I will have to look at the Goodwill stores here .

I love looking for fabrics at Goodwill. Last time I was in there I found several yards of a Winnie the Pooh print. Got all of it for $1.99.

No it's not suede. It's the slick leather, just really soft. feels almost like the leather they make gloves out of, maybe deer leather. I use to work at an interior design store and my boss would order a whole cow hide. I think this is maybe the belly part of it. Cause on a whole hide the center of the hide that would be the cows upper sides and back is thicker that the outside part.

I think I'm going to make my daughter a kindle cover with part of the leather.

I seldom find fabric at my GW, but I always look for it. I have goyyen some good buys, but usually just yard or less pieces. It is fun to hunt for it though.
