Cleaning out

Every year I try new things. Some of those things just don't work out. It's been about 3 years since I went through and cleaned out all the stuff we won't be using. The chickens are happy campers these days. There won't be any need to buy new jars next year. Does anyone else find they have to do this?

Yep! Pickled crab apples is one thing that comes to mind. And then DH decided he didn't like the seeds in some of the berry jams I made.

Absolutely. I've tried a few things that just didn't work out and the chickens were thrilled. Same thing recently with the freezer. One of the chest freezers died and as I was cleaning it out, I pulled out some bread and baked goods that were a little dry and the chickens were beside themselves. Too bad bread doesn't have alot of protein. My birds love it and would be happy if they got it every day.
