Smile Fermenting foods?

I am wondering about fermenting foods. I want to learn about it and have no clue where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction please? I have looked at some videos tonight on you tube about fermenting pickles and I really want to try that this summer.

Funny, I came here to post nearly the same thing and I see this post.

I cant help because we are just getting started. We have our 1st batch of sauerkraut working right now and that led me to studying on fermenting other vegetables.

I just got a copy of " Making Sauerkraut and pickled vegetables at Home " It has some interesting recipes and such in it.

I have Wild Fermentaion by Sandor Katz. It's a great primer on the subject. Salt and whey seem to be the most common ways to ferment. I would like to do more of it this year as well.

I've been exploring here http://www.picklemetoo.com/
There is so much to read and so many things to try. I found the site while researching sauerkraut (which came out quite tasty!)
