Fruit/veggi processing tool question

First - has to be electric with enough power to handle larger quantities - like 30 qts of cooked tomatoes through the strainer in one setting, or shredding 20 - 30 lbs of carrots or potatoes.

I already have a meat grinder and a grain mill (stand alone units) and unfortunately neither has attachments for processing veggies.

I want something that can handle being out in my summer kitchen during harvest. I'm hoping to find something under $300.

I do not want a mixer with attachments. If it turns out that is my best bet, I'll either buy attachments for my heavy duty mixer, or buy a new KA base for all the attachments I already own. I hate the idea of hauling my big mixer back and forth between the house and summer kitchen during harvest season, and I think the KA is a cumbersome unit if all I'm using it for is a motor for my attachments. I know I can sell my KA attachments if I no longer need them.

I'd love hearing any recommendations.

I love my Victorio for the food mill, but it wouldn't shred or slice potatoes or carrots. I think your KA may be the best solution. I have an old Oster Kitchen Center that I use, kind of a pre-KA unit, lol.

I did find this, it's almost at the bottom of the page, the Weston Tomato Strainer and Meat Grinder Combo, with shredder drum attachment - http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/tomato_strainer.aspx

On one hand, it might be less expensive to buy the KA attachments, but on the other hand, you could leave this in the summer kitchen and not have to tote the KA back and forth. Wonder if the shredder drum attachment might fit the meat grinder you already have? Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion, but that's the best I could come up with.

Sounds like you need to take a look at a commercial grade shredders.
I use a Cuisenart for shredding, grinding, etc.
