Looking for long shirt pattern

I'm looking for a pattern for a longish shirt that has slits on the side. It can be sleeveless and I prefer it be slipover but it could button up the front. I want something that is long enough to cover my hips. What I'm thinking of, but don't know what it's called, would be the long, plain, shirts that are worn over the black cotton pants by people from the asian regions. Does anyone have any idea what these are called?

I am going to be getting a couple of new-to-me floor looms within the next couple of weeks. The loom I'm bringing back here with me has a weaving width of 22" so what I plan to do is just weave the yardage and then have someone sew the things together for me (I don't sew).

Anyone have any idea what I'm looking for?

I made my brother a number of shirts for Christmas couple years back. Mountain man style. I used Butterick pattern B5008 Makeing History. I changed the pattern a bit, but they are very simply made, you wouldn't have to waste much of your woven cloth.

Check patterns for tunics.

The name for the Indian garment you describe is salwar kameez.

Thanks, both of your. What I did was look up those terms/patterns and followed other links and images until I kinda found what I was looking for. I remembered that I'd seen a shirt similar to what I want on the cover of an album by Kitaro (it's the soundtrack album from the movie Heaven & Earth with Tommy Lee Jones). I looked and finally found it and it's a Taiwanese traditional tunic, or something similar. It's also similar to the Hippie Tunic short Kaftan type garment. I think I can weave some cloth and then come up with a design that will make exactly what I want. I will probably wait to make it on the 45" loom though, so there won't be as many pieces. I won't be able to start it until I get back out there in May.

Thanks, Chixarecute. The first one is what I was thinking of. I like everything about that top except the collar. I'd just leave that off and have a round or scoop neck. I am hoping to weave the cloth for one, and let someone put it together for me. Shoot, I even like the pants. Surely, if I weave some 45" cloth, I can get it made. I was thinking of using silk and rayon, so I probably won't get it done for a year !!!
