Could a sticky help?

Why not create a sticky for links to old posts until this forum is healed of it's unworthiness (or unwhatever you wanna call it).

You could cut and paste links to threads on the sticky.

This will not show on the HT total index as last thread/post.
At least not for me, this is a test.

But not on the total HT forum index. And it's not showing people at the forum as other forums are.

I need to go make note of that.

But you all have it.

All self pity aside - Glad you all got UN-closure!

Hey Rick, sure you can hang out over here.
You like to play with yarn, right?

The people here dont put words in your mouth, but they do put wool in your hands.
They are very generous like that.

And nobody is allowed to talk about politics or any of the rougher aspects of farming.
It is a very cozy forum.

Welcome to the Fold!

Here, Rick, try a drop spindle! Have you ever washed raw wool?

We love to enable people. You are welcome to join us in the adventure!

Hey Rick welcome to the Fold! Hang with us anytime you like. As GAM said we don't discuss certain things here so we rarely have any problems like that.

So what do you do in your spare time? Wanna learn to knit or spin or weave? Have have a few men here so don't feel out of place. We really are a very diverse group.

I like a good yarn!, I have handled yarn to wind into bunny balls for the baby Afghan that I kept chiding Ann might arrive when our 7 month old Grand-niece was in college. Pained me greatly to pay 15 bucks 10 days b4 Christmas for emergencyBernat Softee Lilac Baby Yarn.

We are city transplants living off-grid and forcing clay to feed us through Permaculture, so it's kinda rough in it's own way. Could you define rough aspects, even by PM. I may not dwell her alot, but you have piqued my curiosity for a peek.

We never have. Would a wringer washer be helpful in that task. We traded some comfrey roots for some yarn a few years ago.

I play guitar and experiment with fiddle, banjo, hammered dulcimer and mandolin, but my spare time I spend on a pillow, and with our GS, 2 cats and 2 dogs. I'd love to build a loom and learn to weave, but since we are building our homestead from scratch it will wait quite a while.

Thanks for the hospitality. I would probably never have knocked on the door, had I not seen the issues on the admin board after the site move.

Can't I just snip the end off of 2 of Ann's crochet hooks and file them to a dull point.. hee hee

I wouldn't mind knitting some socks so they would fit and (K)not wear the heels out in one season.

Socks, did you say socks? Oh GAM someone here wants to make socks that fit and wear well. Rick I think we can help you there.

In terms of rough, basically we don't talk about killing and/or taking joyful glee with a pig headed animal. We all have animals we would love to (in our heads) wring their necks at times. But we try not to talk about it. We all know that animals need to be culled and are raised for food but all that can be talked about in just about every other forum here on HT. This is a fiber forum where we talk about fibers and all the wonderful things we like to do with them. Rolling naked in a really soft fleece would be one of mine Never done it but one day I will, it's on my bucket list. We talk about life's events, we talk about births, and life, and occasionally death Don't worry about it. Just talk about whatever you want or need to. If you have questions of any kind I bet we can answer it for you. If you get too rough I'll probably send you a PM and ask you to edit something. I don't do a lot of moderating, this is a very good group. I think we are pretty open minded and accepting of each other.
