Seamless top-down sweaters

Stitch Diva has a bunch of very nice sweater patterns here:

"one piece and top-down, all of them feature clever construction techniques to avoid tedious seaming" -- love the cabled scabbard design.

felting ?

I have a little bag that I crocheted, that I want to felt. Do I just run it through the washing machine a few times? Does it go through the dryer? Does it need a hot cycle?

Mrs Jo,
Is it made from a felt-able fiber?? If so, then yes. Hot water, a bit of detergent, (I also use a small bit of washing soda). Run it through the wash cycle a few times. I don't let the washing machine go through the entire wash/spin/rinse/spin cycle. Just through the wash cycle ... check to see if fulled enough, if so, spin out the water & put it through a cold rinse. If not, restart the wash cycle.

I was once told to wash it in the machine but skip the spin cycle. The person who told me this said the spin cycle sets in wrinkles and may form the bag in a way you don't want it to be. I'be put stuff in the dryer as well after the wash.

I got best results with bags by inserting a plastic liner before felting.
