March sent along yarn with the scarf KAL and I've been waiting for it to talk to me. We went over to see family this last weekend, 5 hr drive and no chores to keep me busy...perfect knitting conditions.

So, yardage was a mystery since I couldn't remember. Moebius scarf was the answer. No worries about length, so I cast on pulling out of the drive, cast off our last night there. I still have some of the darkest skein left.

About an hour and a half into the trip. Nice and sunny, road to ourselves for the most part, children are all sleeping to catch up on the early departure time.

Less sun, more traffic, more moebius, remembering just why I enjoy being on the other side of the state.

It stayed there as a Thank you to aunt for putting us up. Purple is her favorite color. Didn't know who it was for when I started, but I love it when it all works out like that!
Doesn't really show up well in the photo, but I started with the lightest skein and worked to the darkest. The shading was fairly subtle, but just beautiful.

Great visit, fun knitting, wonderful weekend! I'm really glad to be home though. LOL

Details: 40" sz 8 circular needles. CO 156 sts (pretty roomy, tighter I'd do less) worked in a moss stitch, cast off when it looked good.

Pakalana, I completely forgot about that yarn. As I remember it was very pretty blues/purples, more my favorite cornflower blue than anything. Moebius are fun and easy to knt. Did you cast on and put one twist into the first round? Plain garter stitch looks really pretty in a moebius

March, you remember correctly started out almost a periwinkle, to cornflower, to a deep purple.
Nope I did a moebius cast on, figure 8 method over the cable and needle from Cat Bordhi.

I keep my patterns for the moebius reversible (I've done the garter stitch before). One of those things I figured early on....it bothers me if it doesn't look the same since both sides are exposed.

I'm looking for a leaf(ish) lace design right now....in case anyone has some links bookmarked.

I love the dashboard shots.
I almost feel like I am along for the ride.

Pretty yarn and a perfect project for it.

I tend to give my projects away, keeping a few is skill I'm developing.
This was *really* hard to give away. However, I figured I could spin something fluffy and soft for myself again later. The color was stunning.
