Is this a good deal?

Our small, local discount department store (Pamida) has Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool Yarn in 8 ounce skeins in Natural and Nature's Brown (dark chocolate) 100% wool. Medium worsted weight.

Original $9.99, now marked down to $6.00 each. Is this a good deal?

Being relatively new to knitting and being a spinner hence not a yarn buyer I wondered if I should be going back to buy all they have left (about 6-8 skeins total).

Very Very good. I love this wool. Most of my socks are made from it. It is also soft enough for sweaters

JoAnn's online says 8.99 is regular price. So 6.00 is still 33% off.

Go shopping, get all that you can afford and stash it.

I bought out all the Fishermans at the Lancaster Pamida. They had it clearanced at $6 and then ran an extra 20% off special so I couldn't resist.

I understand where you're coming from ... I hardly ever buy yarn, but at this price, I'd jump on it!

If you don't want to use it as is, you can always ply it with something else!

Thanks everyone

I did as Yankee Terrier did in buying out all the remaining skeins at my local Pamida. I asked about the 20% discount but was turned down. In looking over the sales receipt though I noticed the cashier gave me the Senior Citizens 15% discount so the final cost per skein was $5.10. One advantage to going grey prematurely.

That was back in January. Our Pamida had a deal where all clearance items were an additional 20% off so I lucked out. Bought some Moda too, ended up being about $2 a skein.
