Time management

Some quit their jobs and go with one income. Others cut back on what they want to do to have time to do what they need to do.

I've got about five weeks of 'free' time coming up. Free from my paying job. What's waiting for me?

The blackberries are coming out of my ears! I've been freezing them whole or juicing them and freezing the juice, because I can't do jam and jelly just yet.

Plums are doing the same!

All the rabbits are in serious need of grooming.

I have about five home-grown fleeces that still need washing. I have four lawn and leaf bags of Romney from LAST YEAR that I still haven't gotten to. And I have four more fleeces finally in the mail.

I have customers emailing me wanting batts. I need to dye more wool, pick more wool, card more wool. I'm already running out of colors!

I have a new tapestry loom that hasn't had wool touch it yet!

I have a garden coming in that all needs to be preserved one way or another.

I have a house that needs some serious cleaning.

A barn and chicken house that need the same!

And I have to prep for fall semester.

Oh, and I have a family reunion to go to, and a lot of medical tests pending in July.

Think five weeks is enough? Can I borrow your minutes?

One way or another...I'll get caught up! I will! I swear!!!

Meg take them as they come and don't stress. Last year you probably had the same amount of stuff that needed doing, plus you had a broken knee. This year you have Chris home to help out. Divide and conquer is what I say

You can do it but you can do it faster with the help of your mate. I'd offer up my minutes but I'm hording them all for my own list of things that needs to be done.

My list is about as long as yours. The ironic thing is that right now I'm already looking forward to winter because things will slow down... It's ironic because in the winter I'll be looking forward to summer for the same reason!

You're always good at putting things in perspective, Marchy. Thanks.

Although I didn't do jams and jellies last year due to the late freeze, I sure did have a lot on my plate, and I managed to take care of what was really important. (is there a 'patting oneself on the back' smilie?)

And Chris is here...so we'll get it all done, won't we?

RedTartan...now you're going to be looking forward to the shorter winter days simply because it's more spinning hours!

Meg

Baby steps Meg. Baby steps. Pick one item on the list and do it. Cross it off and on to the next one. And remember that the world doesn't end if it doesn't all get done. Last year I through a gazillion (yes, that's a real number <g>) pounds of berries into the freezer because I just could not get them put up as jam. I canned in the winter and it was lovely.

Just as Flannel says Meg, you can and will do it all. Besides there isn't anythign wrong with frozen fruit is there? If you do decide to do somenthig with it, jams or jellies or something else yummy to eat you will have them ready to use. I just bought frozen fruit for me to make smoothies for work with my homemade yogurt, Yummy!

I'm sending a hardy pat on your back, I don't think we have any icon for that I too am trying hard to not panic when I see the length of my list of todos, stick a piece of paper over your list and start writing down what you have completed rather than what needs to still be done. I promise you will fee better about what you actually do accomplish.

We're here cheering you on Meg
