Dates

I want to make some basic date cookies. I seem to remember that after chopping them, coating them lightly will keep them from clumping together and they will blend better.

Am I right? It's been awhile--like 40 years.

For batter I've used flour, but actually it seems to work better if they're just snipped into the bowl and mixed in a bit at a time. For dough I like sugar, spreading some on the cutting board frst seems to help the knife from getting gummed up. Mixing the nuts in first seems to help too.
