trying something new ...

I have a lot of sheepsire growing and Mother use to tell me she made lemon pudding out of it. I have never cooked with this weed and cannot find Mother's recipe. I would like to make a cake too; yet have never cooked anything but those boxed in the stores .. just add an egg or something and pop in the oven.

Have any of you used this wild plant in cooking; and if so, how? (I am hoping someone will share a few recipies for "plain" pudding and "plain" cake that I might add some of this wild plant to in order to turn out a "lemon pudding/pie/cake".)

Also known as yellow wood sorrel. When I was a kid, we use to call them baby bananas because thats what they looked like. Tasted like lemon though. I've ate a zillion of them, never considered cooking them though.
