Cheese Sauce from powder?

The wife and I picked up some cheddar cheese powder from an Amish store a little while back. We are wondering if anyone has a recipe for a good bread stick type dipping sauce using this stuff. About all we have done with it so far is made mac and cheese, and that isn't turning out to awesome either. Share some cheese powder recipes please?

I've never used it, but I wonder if it'd be good sprinkled on popcorn.

I buy this but just use it to increase the cheese flavor for ex. in Mexican cornbread. It's pretty good on popcorn. Butter it first or spray with butter flavor cooking spray so th powder will stick.

I don't know if it is the same type of powder but my mother used to buy packets years ago. She made a cheese sauce for pouring over broccoli and cauliflower. I loved it.

Thanks for the tip...I'll have to see if my Amish store has any.

Care to share the recipe for that cheese sauce?

I have the orange cheese powder that comes in the #10 cans. I just heat up some milk and butter (margarine) and add cheese powder and stuir it in until it is like the thick cheese liquid for macaroni and cheese. I then pour that over veggies. You don't want it too runny or watery. You want it to stick to the veggies. I love the stuff over asparagus.

Makes a great addition to soup, especially cream ones.
