Empanada recipe?

I am looking for an empanada recipe. Sweet and savory both. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe that they would be willing to share?

when I'm looking for a new recipe, I go to www.allrecipes.com. They have thousands of recipes but what I really look for are the reveiws that each recipe has---reviewers just like you and me that go to the site. I've found some of my families most favorite recipes at that website. My friends also use the website with much success. I quickly checked and there were several empanada recipes on there.

I made them in Spanish class (29 years ago!) and my family loved them but I don't think I kept the recipe. I will search later today and see if I can find it... My filling was ground beef, raisins, spices. Similiar to the ones on allrecipes but I never used boiled eggs in my filling.

Although I don't have it any more, we got our recipe from Sunset magazine. You might try searching their website -- it had both sweet and savory options.

Since they puffed up in the oven, we called them Beached Whales.
