Oh the excitement!! I called the guy who has my cow and the calf and asked him if it would be easier for him if we just came up tomorrow to get them so he wouldn't have to feed the calf for another week. But I told him he would have to hold my check till thurs as I sold my beef heifer and want to make sure it's in the bank before he cashed mine. Funny idea huh? HAHA! Anyway he said it would be fine w/ him as he has 6 calves due this week. I am SOOOOOOO excited! Tomorrow evening I will have my OWN cow to milk!! It's just great!! Got some names narrowed down,.....Anna, Grace, Leah, Esther, Leah, and Miriam. Leanin to Annie or Leah.

I have never met a jersey cow I didnt like! And I would be happy to either of those girls in my paddock. Enjoy!!!
She definitely looks like a Gracie to me. If that is just not an option I know that her middle name is Annie.

Congrats on the new cow, may she have bounties of milk and plenty of heifers! Don't worry about the leg band, they fall of ,malfunction, and are easily lost. All good cows should have three names. First is the official or registered name. Second is the barn name that you use most. Third is the name or combination of adjectives you use when she step on your toes, swats you in the face with a pooey tail, and spills the almost full bucket of milk,( then give you a lick or bats those big brown eyes!!!).

Yeah I think all things have those names. THe name your mom gave you, the name she gave you when in trouble, and then the name that meant you were going to get beat and you better run! HAHA!! I think I have it. Hazel Ann. Unless DH says are you crazy that's stupid that's what it will be.
