My understanding is that in some of the dairy breeds the bulls have begun to look more feminine because the gene set that leads to higher milk production are not "masculine" genes. This is just what I read somewhere, anyway.
From that I would assume that if you have a more feminine looking bull that you would also end up with a more feminine looking steer. Since the beef breeds have not been bred to emphasize milk production, the bulls and steers should have a more masculine look.
On a side note, I did see a Charolais bull (yes, a beef breed) yesterday that was the prettiest looking bull I have ever seen. And I do mean pretty, not handsome! :haha:
