So does it cost "more"Or "Less" To raise your own beef? Someone told me once it was the same as the grocery store. The only advantage is the quality of meat.

No matter the final cost you control the nutritional intake of your animal from birth to finishing, that's more valuable to me than the final cost....Topside

Topside, I hope you share a photo of your steaks when you get them back. I hate when I hear people say dairy beef is not as good as meat from beef breeds.

I agree 100%, the cost is secondary to knowing what went into the food you are eating. I still think it is a better value.

Here in coastal California, its gas fee for call out (around $60 right now), $125 for the kill and delivery to butcher, and $0.65-$0.75 per pound depending on who you use.
