My mom came up with that. She called to check on the cow situation right after I brought her home. I'd been calling her 87 because that's what the tag around her neck had in it but I hadn't gotten to the naming part yet. I answered the phone while in the barn and my mom knew I was doing chores so she said, "well, how is Ms. Moo doing?" I knew immediately she had just named my cow.
I can milk her...or at least I could. She hadn't been milked by hand and when we brought her home we didn't have the barn built, much less a head gate, so after about two very long, muddy and tear-filled weeks, I finally got her to stand tied to a t-post and let me milk her. Well when she calved a few months later the calf got stuck and died...and after that she would have none of it. And trust me, I don't give up very easily...but I did on this. I tried and tried and tried and got enough milk to get two bottle calves started, but I got so tired of fighting to milk her I started tying her up in the barn and forcing the calves on her. Luckily for us all they never did quit. They look one heck of a beating twice a day but she finally caved and raised them up. I haven't bred her since then but I am going to now.
