No, I use bulls on my cows.

we don't use dogs other then to protect our goats. (LGD's) My neighbor has a stocker cow operations and he uses border collies. It's amazimg to watch those dogs work....

Our Aussies are our helpers and do just what they're bred for - work stock! When we move cattle, usually my hubby just calls his 'pet' cow who also happens to be the boss cow, and they all follow her. Sometimes, though, you need more than just a leader and that's when the dogs come in handy. Plus they're great at guarding the gates. Ours also work hogs and the oldest female actually saved my husband's life one night when a big sow got him down and was trying to kill him. Rebel jumped in the middle of that pig and never let up 'til Rus was able to get up and away. We love our working dogs!
