If your goal is to put weight on them in order to eat them later, you might consider the feed conversion rate and feed accordingly. I've learned over the years of my kids feeding glutenous amounts of grain to show steers that the average bovine will convert feed to pounds at a 7:1 ratio. It costs a ton to feed weight gain on them but man it tastes good in the end! Happy feeding to you.
