I cannot post the link but did a search with his name and found the obit in the Waverly, TN area. There is a link to send condolences.

My DH is a retired factory iron (casting) worker and has always been interested in smithing. I found this article in his stuff a while back and meant to ask Mr.Scharabok about it. It does put a face with a name:

Very sad news about Ken.

Two excellent picks for moderators, BTW.

He will be missed and worked so hard for us all. We should remember he was the sole moderator way way back when this place was the Countryside forum on Lucenet. A good and generous man, and I am better for knowing him.

Cool

While I never met Ken Scharabok I considered him a friend - or at least he made me feel like he was a friend - I did buy a couple of things from him over the years and he was a man of his word - and his word was good.
So sorry that he has passed - he will be missed.
RIP Ken - we're all headed your way my friend.

The first time I heard from Ken was when he sent a card to say he was hosting a get-together at his farm. (Might have been only for TN folks) We were never able to make it but he was a big help to us in lots of other ways.

This is a real shock. I feel like something heavy just landed on my chest. Ken was a great guy, very knowledgeable and always willing to share. I'm truly sorry to hear we've lost him.

Sad to hear this. I had a brief correspondence with him here via PM, basically I was sending him fan mail after reading his articles for years. He was very gracious and kind.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Rest well friend.
