something I have not said Francis just reminded me.....if you go into buy turnips buy a bag......a guy wanted to sell me the amount that would fit into a small very small medicine bottle for $1.....and when I said how much for 50 lb bag he said ....do you know how many seeds are in a bag and how many turnips that will make...I said yes he said I do not think you do...then he wanted to know if I was truck patching them....but when I said DEER he said OK ... $.25 a pound this was 15 years ago..we all know $1 a bottle or 25 cents a pound...what saving that is ......now deer plots are everywere and the price is $1.83 a pound. that seems like it has already hit a high to me...but you never know what next year brings

Thanks for the info Myersfarm.

My husband and I attended a seminar today in our nearby Amish community about low-stress cattle handling. There and back we both commented on the numbers of good sized fields of turnips growing. We'd never noticed more than big garden patches of them bofore.

I was wondering how many turnips seeds to the pound...... I found a link that says 167,000 seeds per pound ....that's a lot of cheap feed that picture of a turnip with the top times 167,000 gives a lot to eat for $1.83...plus I did see all kinds of prices on them for $18.99 a pound to $4 so shop around
