Thats some high priced holstein calves for our area of the country. I get holstein bull calves for $30 a head still from the local dairy here in Texas close to my home.

While baby beef calves are going for $180-$250 at the sale barn.

the reasion I raise jersey is because my aunt and uncle have a jersey dairy so can get them in exchange for the help we can give them on the farm. they have all their calves about the same time hence selling them all at once. plus that way we dont have to make many trips we have to borrow a trailer so it makes it a pain. he used to have one, but his ex got it in the divorce. anyway, I have one that was my grandpas but we have to replace the floor and tires (what some of this money is going for) for it to be road safe. rest is going for getting hay equpment ready and my parents farm property taxes. (I'm buying the farm, one acre at a time... lol) well, I'm sure I've said enough and have properly hijacked this thread... just feel talkative I guess. well, off to get my taxes done!
