Paso, I had better responses from the small dairies, not sure if that applies where you are, but the one I deal with milks less than 100 cows and was also very glad that the cows he sold me weren't going to slaughter, which they would have if I had not bought them, (that's why I ended up with one cow more than I was looking to buy at the time!).

Well I have called all the dairies listed in Dalhart Tx and all the ones in Syracuse Ks 12 in all and got only one person to respond. she said the boss was in a meeting and would call me back the rest of them I had to leave a message.. No one has responded.... I would think they would want their cows to have some kind of life but I guess if they started selling cows to individuals that would be less milk bought in the stores... You figure it ! I have seen some cows on Craigs list but I can't afford the price or they are dry and not bred ,thats not a practical thing for me at this time.
