I am not milking her but the heifer still nurses just cause Mom lets her. She would probably give maybe gallon a dayor a little less. We are in southern wisconsin between jeansville and beloit.

No! Clover is only 6 months old. I just set her Momma up to be bred on the 17th. to a registered Jersey. She throws wonderful calves and so far has always had heifers. I am selling the six month old heifer, and the bred cow for 800.00. I am not milking the cow but she is still giving milk to the heifer. I just have not weaned her because there was no reason to at the time. She still gets a small decent udder going. No promises on the amount of milk but you could def get a quart or two a day.

No, Lucy passed away unexpectedly on Dec1. Really bad case of bloat I would say. She was fine the night before and dead in the am. I am still selling the calf but am pretty upset about Lucy. Probably all for the best with her age and all. I was worried about her leaving me...I think I papmper a bit too much!

I do but Hubby says sell. It is not the care that he is worried about. I think it is all the work milking and after the milking, cleaning up, processing and making everything etc. He knows I love it but have to pick my priorities. With Fibro you just cannot do everything you want to. STINKS! pardon the word. IF she does not sell, she just stays, so if I still have her in July she will be bred for a spring baby.
