I used to go there once a month...but not with a freezer of meat. If I decide to make that trip, you will be the first one I call.

He sounds just like our Burgermeister, we had him butchered at the same age. Same thing, he was a sweetie, wished he had been a heifer, but everyone was told when he was born a boy he was destined to be meat. Had to keep telling the grandkids that over and over. At the end we told thenm we loved him and he had a much better life than he would have had on a beef farm where he would not get scratches and tickels, treats and hugs but would still end up meat. they were ok with it then. BTW, Mostly grass fed as well and the best meat I have ever had!

I am getting a couple more jersey boys to raise to butcher also. The meat's just too good not to. I can't decide if it's the jersey meat - or just fresh, home raised - that makes it so good.

Yeah~ our two we sent in had been bottle babies~ my FIRST bottle babies. Of course the two steers were the friendliest of the four I bottled. But~ steers so we sent them in....and the favorite "Sofa" got off the trailer took one quick look around and tried to get back ON the trailer. It was really hard not to let the smart fellow back in!
