greenhorn, I'm not sure of your location but you did mention cold. I have found that young stock has a tendency to limit their trips to water in cold weather or may simply not drink enough. This can lead to impaction which will often look like bloat. To ensure young stock drink a sufficient amount of water, I keep a salt block out in all seasons.
