KayJay, when you do trim her or have her trimmed, you might have to take it off a little at a time. When they get grown out like that, it sometimes takes a few trimmings to get them back to where they need to be without laming them. Good looking cow. Congrats.

She's already bred, due to calve in late Oct/early Nov. She was bred to the jersey bull the seller had, let's hope it's a heifer. If I'm successful in selling almost all of my goats and she has a heifer, I get to keep it. Since I currently have 2 horses, 14 goats, 40ish chickens, 4 turkeys, 6 dogs, 4 cats, a rat, and a parrot besides the cow, and I only live on 2 acres, I don't think keeping a calf would be a good idea until I do get rid of some goats lol.

Forgot to add, not knowing a whole lot about cow udders yet.... I think her teats are a bit on the short side, but not at all as short as they look in the pic, I think that was just the angle. Of course, I have small hands though, so shorter teats seem to work better for me lol.

Wow. We've been thinking of downgrading our ranch and moving closer to town (due to increasing fuel costs). I'm looking at the two acre "horse properties" and thinking there's no way I can cram all our animals into there. Congrats if you can do it.

Hehehe, I don't feel that I could fit them all comfortably if the goats were all adults, half of them are kids. It helps too that everyone shares space so well. Can't wait to move to a bigger piece of land, with some PASTURE!! lol
