Jeff, I can relate to that. Neighbors of mine and their kids wanted to watch a goat birthing. I had a well-grown two year old first kidder and EVERYONE was watching. Much excited anticiaption. The kid was a HUGE single doe, normal presentation, but required a hard pull. Quite unusual, and there was the adult audience with looks of horror and hands over mouths, kids were all screaming and crying. Me pulling for all I'm worth at the same time telling them this happens sometimes, everything will be ok. Well it was a good outcome, doe and kid were both fine, but when I think of the dozens and dozens of normal kiddings they might have watched...

OKAY! 4 weeks! LOL I look forward to it.
Don't worry about having a death the first cowcam. Everybody here knows death is a part of farm/dairy life, even the children that might be watching. I'm sure they already have experienced it in some way or know it is a possibility. All any of us can do is hope for the best. And we'll be here and be rooting for the next cow to have a healthy calf (in a month)!
