just an update for you people who are skeptical. Who out there would like to get in a field with a range bull with a full set of horns, and end up between him and a few heifers? Well, go at it. Dear son had the where-with-all to get his knife out of his pocket when he saw the bull coming towards him, and yelling wasn't stopping him. He moved in a tight circle or 2, then as the bull had his head down, swung his knife. The bull stopped and eventually went off. Thank God my son wasn't hurt-- needless to say he will be on horseback while walking a mile out to check the cows now.
Uncle, and a few friends rounded the bull up, who was not very willing... didn't charge them, but wasn't very willing either and took out the knife. It was in an angle, and no damage was done.
As the owner, uncle and vet said... ANY BULL CLOSE ENOUGH TO PUT A KNIFE IN IS TOO CLOSE

Do you own cattle? I do and so do most of the posters here. I even own a Highland bull. We are not ignorant nor do we jump to conclusions. My comments came from knowledge and so did the others some of them long, long years of knowledge.
