Unhappy Log-in trouble GC access.

Dean/Chuck

I am having trouble logging-in. My name appears as a "currently active user" of members on-line. I can not post; I can not mail and do not see General Chat and my password disappears *****. Since the system does not officially recognize me I can not log off.

I know you're very busy so get to it when you can. There are always problems when we all go through this. Thanks for all of your hard work. NJ Rich

Rich, that sounds like it might be the same problem Rose is having.
....could you try deleting your cookies and following Melissa's instructions, see if it makes a difference?

cowgirlone,

No I didn't figure it out, It appeared everything was fine. I did read the Admin suggestions and took HT off my favorites then typed in the site address and saved it to my favorites. It still doesn't work. I am going to get rid of any cookies, remove HT from bookmarks and reboot. I'll try again and get back to you with a report. Thanks cowgirlone

cowgirlone - I'm having a similar thing, too! I log in and get the "thank you for loggin in, Murron" message, and when the site comes right up, I'm not logged in. However, I can log in after I hit "post reply" to a comment. Hmmm... I did clear all cookies, etc. and did all of the thingies mentioned in suggestions above... Just a part of breaking in our new digs, maybe?

Be sure and do everything in this sticky:
If you have log-in problems of any type, please read!

Boy, I'm actually very surprised at how well things are working! I think this is the smoothest move yet!

Also be sure that you put a checkmark in the "remember me" box next to where you log in.

cowgirlone,

I took HT off my favorite/bookmarks on all the search engines I use. Rebooted, typed in HT's site address manually to go to HT and still don't have posting access or GC, etc. Since I am not logged in I can not log out.
My name appears as Active users .......

When I type in my personal password the ***** all disappear. I get the Thanks For Logging in , but I am not actually logged in.

NJ Rich

Rich, you're logged in or else you wouldn't be able to post here. Or else I'm not understanding what your saying; which is entirely possible..lol. :baby04:

At the top of site, on the left hand side, try logging out and then log back in. You actually have to exit the page in order to get logged out. If you click anywhere else, you're actually still logged in.

Okay, I take that back! I can't log out either. No matter what I do, I'm still logged in. It must be a glitch. I'll let Dean know.

OK

Removed all bookmarks/favorite from all search engines I use.

Re-booted my computer.

Typed in HT address using Mozilla Firefox;

Typed in my NJ Rich and my password *****.

I checked Remember Me Box.

Hit Log-in. When I do this the ***** password disappears.

I get the Thank You for ....

I am shown in the Active Users list.

I can not post, do not get General Chat or mail and do not get the Log-off/out option. The only way I get to you is through the sign-in to contact Admin.

So I am shown as logged in but I am not. NJ Rich Confused in NJ

Hmmm, sure can't say you didn't try Rich. lol
Thank you for helping out.

I'm sure at a loss, I know someone with more computer knowledge than I have will be able to figure it out. It might take a few days to iron out the kinks here.

(Sometimes I wish I couldn't see GC......)

smalltime, I'm glad to hear it's working for you now.
